Your Metabolic Health, Envisioned

Welcome to

About us

AdipoSight.ai is an A*STAR spin-off from the Singapore BioImaging Consortium (SBIC), on a mission to improve metabolic health assessment. AdipoSight.ai is positioned to deliver a new level of insight into disorders of fat metabolism, improving our understanding and treatment of obesity, diabetes and fatty liver disease, and knock-on effects to heart disease and breast cancer. AdipoSight.ai is realising this vision through clinical development of fatty acid composition (FAC) imaging, building on artificial intelligence augmentation of quantitative magnetic resonance imaging techniques. As a purely digital technology, fatty acid composition imaging is primed for telehealth delivery in the cloud direct to you.

From Singapore to the world, AdiposSight.ai has your metabolic health, envisioned.

Diabetes and Insulin Resistance

The level of fat in the abdomen is a well-known predictor of type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Visceral fat is metabolically harmful as it drives free fatty acids and inflammatory hormones that increase insulin resistance. Saturated fatty acid (SFA) in deep subcutaneous and visceral adipose tissue is a correlate with insulin sensitivity.

Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease
Brown Adipose Tissue Activation

Sustained levels of elevated fat in the liver can lead to chronic inflammation and the onset of fibrosis. Fatty acid profiling shows promise as a potential biomarker of liver inflammation in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). There are no imaging biomarkers currently available to measure inflammation independently of fibrosis.

Brown fat, compared to white fat, burns calories to give off heat rather than storing them. Brown fat is lower in older adults and is proportionately less if overweight. However, brown fat can be stimulated by cold and pharmacokinetic means, increasing fatty acid utilisation, and becoming visible as an enhanced fatty acid metabolic rate.
